This Sweet Couple followed their dream and actually got married in Big Sur, CA.
When they got back to their Hometown in the Cozy New England Corner of the world they had a wedding reception for their family and friends to celebrate their marriage. And what a celebration it was. Their family threw them a Beautiful Backyard BBQ with gardens, games, speeches, dancing, dinner, and of course cake! Anyone can tell how loving and supportive their family and friends are of their vows to love each other and start a new life together.
I felt privileged to be a part of their Special Day and wish them all the happiness they deserve in their future to come.
I just had to share this action shot I captured of the Groom’s nephew playing wiffle ball in the gardens. Too Cool!
Twilight Portraits
Can you tell the last half of the wedding portraits were taken after Sunset and into Dusk? Twilight Portraits are a fun genre of wedding and portrait photography. Typically great portraits are taken during the Golden Hour which is an hour before sunset. Then comes Sunset, Twilight, Dusk, and Night. After the sunsets there is still enough light during Twilight to capture really cool photos. Then comes Dusk and then Night where if you have a pretty good flash system you can still get great portraits even in the dark believe it or not. Also the Moon is still letting off a good amount of light which is why everyone loves taking photos of the moon.
Check out some more of my Twilight, Dusk, and Night Portraits below.
I photographed this stunningly beautiful wedding in the Massachusetts’ Seacoast Town of Scituate for Josi Photo. Â I love working with other photographers and gaining their artistic insight and learning from their photographic knowledge and experience. Â It’s always so much fun to talk shop and take an interest in others in the same field as you. Â As artists and professionals we all have something different to bring to the table and I love seeing another professional’s take on photography. Â This particular photographer has a special gift for lighting up the night with her evening wedding portraits. Â Check out her website for a peak at her work.
This particular wedding started off with the ceremony set outdoors in a beautiful gazebo. Wedding portraits were taken in the exquisite gardens and then we headed indoors for an outdoor themed reception with a birch tree wedding cake and nautical themed decor. Â Can you tell how much I loved all the floral details. Â I had fun with the dark romantic mood of the first dance and the documentary feel of these black & whites. Â We ended the evening with a fun yet tasteful cake cutting ceremony. Â It’s always such a delightful feeling to have captured the first moments and memories of a loving couples dream day.
